What’s in this year for 2024? I can tell you one thing – it’s not grays and sleek designs. Check out this list of home trends for 2024.

  1. Woodgrain Millwork

We’re kicking it back to the early days where woodworking, and intricate wood designs are making a comeback. And honestly, why did it ever go away?

2. Brass Accents

I have to admit. For years I was against all things gold. Why would anyone ever want that? What goes around, comes around, because now I’m in love! My personal favorite? Unlacquered Brass.

3. Vintage Furniture

This one plays off of the woodgrain millwork. Many are wanting that wholesome feel from long ago. And let’s face it – vintage furniture was made better.

4. Statement Tiles

Using a statement tile in a shower is a great way to add character and help break up the monotony up a plain white shower. I’m loving bold, rich hues.

5. Mixed Metals

When I was remodeling my kitchen back in 2019, I was in love with so many metals. Black? Yes. Copper? Yes. Brass? Yes. And I wanted them all – so I did. And it looks fantastic and not builder-grade feel with everything matchy-matchy.

6. Intimate Dining Areas

I saw this as a trend and thought – why was this not a thing? Yes to the intimate family dinners. Yes to having friends over for dinner. Just, yes.

7. Wallpaper

I know a lot of you are probably cringing right now. Wallpaper? Really? But hear me out. Wallpaper has come a looooooong way. Patterned wallpaper is a great way to add visual interest to a space – whether it’s a room, wall, or inside a bookcase. And, since it is a trend, use a removable kind – so when you’re over it, easy peasy to remove.

8. Exposed Staircases

Exposing staircases is a great way to open up an area and make it feel bigger. Plus open staircases give you another way to add character and customize your home. Newel posts, spindles and banisters host so many options to make it YOU.

9. Bold Hues

Neutral had its time to shine. While it’s nice and needed in some areas, some areas just need a dose of color with bolder hues. Paint is a great inexpensive way to make a statement.

10. Cozy Spaces

Personally, I don’t love sleek, modern minimalism. There’s a time and a place, but my home isn’t one of them. Give me a cozy room, fireplace roaring, and loved ones beside me – that’s the good stuff.
